Family Cards
Valor Cards™ · Family Cards
A family card that answers for itself.
Every card carries a unique ID and a QR code tied to a live verification portal. Scan it and you get an answer — not a story.
And the officer who issued it knows the moment it happens.
“That’s my uncle”
You know the line. You also know it usually was not their uncle — the card was found, borrowed, or bought online. Traditional family cards have no way to tell you which. Valor Cards do. The card either checks out against the record or it does not, and there is no benefit of the doubt to give.
Three steps, a few seconds
No app to install and nothing to log into. Any officer or responder with a phone camera can check a card on the spot.
Scan the QR code
It is etched on the back of the card. A phone camera is enough. If the code will not scan, the ID printed on the front can be typed into the portal by hand.
The portal answers
Verified with the cardholder’s name, expired, or not recognized. A valid result confirms only that the card is currently issued — it confers no authority, access, or legal status.
The officer is notified
Email, text, or both — immediately. They know their family member’s card was just checked, and roughly when. In an emergency, that is a head start nobody had before.
The card itself
Built to be carried for years
This is not a printed plastic card that fades in a wallet. It is metal, and it is meant to still look like something in five years.
- Thick anodized aluminum, etched in fine detail with a Class IV laser.
- A protective sleeve included with every card.
- Your department’s seal or logo etched into the face — the sample shows where it lands.
- Tiers you choose — different thickness and finish can mark levels of service or membership.
- Expiration on your terms — annual, lifetime, or a custom term.
Annual or lifetime
Both carry the same verification. The difference is how long the card stands.
| Annual | Lifetime Membership | |
|---|---|---|
| QR verification | Yes | Yes |
| Scan alerts to the officer | Yes | Yes |
| Anodized aluminum + sleeve | Yes | Yes |
| Department seal etched | Yes | Yes |
| Expiration | Printed on the card | None |
| Best for | Members whose status is reviewed | Long-serving and retired members |
Built around how unions actually work
Each department gets its own ordering portal and its own record of who holds what.
A portal for your department
Your members order through a page set up for your department alone. We process payment and deliver, so the union is not collecting money or chasing paperwork.
We keep the record
Current cardholders, expirations and scan notifications are tracked on our side. If a card needs to be revoked, it stops verifying — immediately, and without collecting anything back.
Volume pricing for unions
Bulk orders carry discount pricing so the union can resell to members. Ask us how the numbers work for a department your size.
One thing to know before ordering
Your union needs a contract with us before members can buy. If yours does not have one yet, have your President reach out — we will walk through how it works for your department. Depending on the union, there may be a limit on how many family cards each member can order per year.
For the ones who go toward it
Bearing a Valor Card means being family to someone who meets danger with firmness and shows personal bravery every day. To the service men and women doing that work: thank you. It is an honor to represent you this way.
Valor Cards™ is a FicaraCo brand. A valid verification confirms only that a card is currently issued and has not been revoked or expired.
